Cumbrian Legendary Ales Grassmoor Dark Ale (2020)
4.3% in bottle.
"A robust dark ale from the heart of the English Lake District brewed with generous amounts of Maris Otter, Crystal and Chocolate malts together with all English hops."
L2.75 Like a dark lager. Browny red. Very poor head retention, a few stray bubbles remain sadly on one half of the head after 30 seconds.
S3.75 Roasted malt notes are there. Subtle but there.
T3.5 very subtle malt. Bitterness is a bit much.
F3 Good carbonation, light medium body.
O3 I know it is being true to the style of an English Dark Mild Ale but I just think it is a beer style that looks very unhappy compared to the quality of porters and stouts available.
