Picked up from the brewery tap, the Kirkstile Inn in Loweswater. Pours a deep red ruby with next to no head. Aromas of malt, caramel, fruits & slight alcohol. Tastes is sweet with flavours of caramel, chocolate & fruit. It might smell & taste of alcohol but it hides it quite well, and is much more drinkable than first thought. At 8% one to be careful with!

Pint at The Rake in London. From notes.
A - Poured dark copper with a half finger of good carbonation. Bright. No lacing and a ring of retention.
S - Raisins and huge dark fruits. Sweet and nice.
T - Extremely malty and quite delicious. Refreshing in the warm weather. Rum, plum and dates are most evident with rich dark malts. Nice.
M - Mild carbonation and a medium body. Smooth and refreshing.
O/D - Lovely stuff. Great and malty. Just what it should be. Lovely fruits and a quenchable character with no trace of alcohol.
