Here's a beer designed to showcase Chinook hops. When brewing this beer we used the "hop bursting" method, saving the hop additions for the very end of boil, which causes distinct aromas of grapefruit and pine to explode from the glass.

Look: Deep gold with modest head, moderate lacing and a long lasting foamy cap. Visible large bubbled, fast rising carbonation.
Smell: Smells of pine, especially spruce, grapefruit and juniper over a toasty biscuit. I am updating this as I work my way through the sixer and the more I drink it the more I like the juniper aroma.
Taste: Minimal malt sweetness. All sugars in this beer have been fermented. Bitter pine and juniper with grapefruit first. Then pine and grapefruit fading into just juniper at the finish. I prefer beers that evolve through a greater range. However, though the range is narrow this beer moves along its path simply, clearly and purposefully. It sounds a single note, but it is a unique note, and it rings clear.
Feel: Medium mouthfeel with plenty of p-r-i-c-k-l-y carbonation. Finishes dry.
Overall: A very drinkable beer if you like evergreen bitterness. The label calls it a shotgunable beer. I’m a little old for that but it was enjoyable to take large gulps. It also makes a difference what glass you drink it from. Try one that really opens the surface area of the beer to a concentrated shot to your nose.

One my favorite IPAs from an often under appreciated brewery in Cleveland. Smooth and easy to drink.

I got a can of this off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle. It poured a clear copper with white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had bitter citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with grapefruit like presence. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

12 oz textured can with a September 2018 BB date stamp served in a pint glass.
Pours amber with a tall off-white head.
Moderately strong aroma with hops dominating.
Moderate bitterness for style with of generic citrus in the taste and aftertaste accompanied by odd flavors.
Overall: not harmonious.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours slihgtly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey/caramel/nutty, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey/caramel/nutty, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, toasted biscuit, light honey/caramel/nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Great Chinook hop showcase as expected, but also includes Eureka for added tropical/stone fruit notes. Very juicy, vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice sized bready malt backbone, with mild lingering sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, well made Midwest style IPA.

Nice clean piny aroma, with a hint of caramel and biscuit in the end. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Nice punch of hops, with pine and spice notes coming through. This fades to a long bitter finish, with a touch of caramel. Nice full mouthfeel, and overall a solid IPA.

Another yummy Market Garden product. Oh boy. Another AIPA. Oh boy.
It pours a little darker than most - deep golden. The aroma is sweet hops. The taste is bitter before malty, but somehow sweet from a juicy hoppyness. The bitterness dominates the aftertaste as well.
Recommended.

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a burnt golden with nice clarity and has bubbles racing upwards; huge fluffy off-white head that slowly falls leaving great thick retention and nice lacing. The aromas have a nice amount of tropical fruits. Lots of melon along with some caramel. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. More melon leading the way along with some grapefruit. Some pine and fresh grass in the mix. Nice hop flavors. Moderate bitterness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a nice IPA. Nice hop aromas and flavors. It's enjoyable stuff. Well done. It's worth checking out.
