On tap at Hope & Pies in Denver.
Black with small head.
Minimal carbonation with penetrating mouthfeel.
Funky weird fruit rind aroma and flavor, with big bitternish, tannin. I'm guessing this was a one off experiment and it is dominated by weird traopical and funky fruit rind flavors...a strange dark brew for sure.

a very very different beer. billed as a pumpkin porter, it pours a very amber color, not what you expect to see in a porter. a bushy white head on top, and a curious nose. notes of raw pumpkin, alcohol, and anise seed. i couldnt dial in the spice for the longest time, because its unconventional. no cinnamon or nutmeg or clove is obvious. its anise! subtle and only in the finish. i also taste maybe more booze than i should for a 7%er, but it works just fine. the feel is medium bodied, well carbonated, and easy drinking. the malt profile doesnt resemble a porter at all, and in fact this might be classified incorrectly, but thats what they call it. anyway, its a refreshing take on a fall classic, spunky and fun. anything new from renegade is always worth a try!
