On tap at the brewery. Red color, good head. Aroma was a bit of hoppiness but nothing that impressed me. Flavor was bitter and had a decent maltiness but as far as imperial reds go this was pretty average. In fact I find a lot of Renegade's beers to be pretty ho-hum in general.

a special release from renegade for the opening of the public house on university. this is a big red ipa, lacey and decadent, well hopped. pours brick red in a 10 oz. goblet with a massive airy white head. it smells like citrus bitterness and a hint of fresh pine boughs. I don't get red malt at all, as there is very little sweetness or caramel character to the aromatic profile. the taste is all hops too, the malts service the beer with some depth and extra fermentables, but there is no residual sugar or richness here, just a straightforward hop rocket. really bright hop notes in this, alpha acids, grapefruit, its refreshing and huge at once, getting more sturdy as it warms. well hidden abv, and a great buzz results. fuller bodied, bubbly, expertly crafted. they should can this one!

This is an Imperial IPA, promoted as Renegade's Imperial Red Ale. Available only (as of the writing of this review, at least) at the new Renegade restaurant, Renegade Publik House.
On tap, poured into a tulip.
Appearance - Dark red, crimson. Very sexy! Thick, foamy white head. Nice lacing.
Smell - Balanced hops and malt nose.
Taste - Think a hopped up version of Fat Tire.
Feel - Follows the nose. A battle between the hops and malt.
Overall - Considering it is only available at one location and isn't offered at a completely ridiculous price...I'd have again whenever I find myself back.
