Ice cold can, straight up.
Golden WCIPA look. Caramel head peeked out the top when opened.
Stanky resiny aroma that could be offputting to the uninitiated.
Taste is a senses blast of citrus, hops & alcohol. Thick malt liquor impression. Got a sweetness to it from the lactose buildup. The ABV is deserving of the heft of the brew. Lovely bitterness.
Feel is dense. Medium carbonation.
Overall, a nice one hitter for extreme IPA fans. I like.,.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Hazy, bright golden, small fluffy head. Aroma is grapefruit and hops, very citrus. Taste amplifies the hops even more, lots of citrus to glue as well. Big hop bomb, but it holds the ABV well. Hard to believe this over 11℅. Pretty damn smooth. Tasty too.

Pours bright, crystal clear and golden with a decent white head and lots of tiny bubbles. Smells lightly of citrus and hops and tastes of sweet malt, followed by a nice, strong but not overpowering hop flavor that is extremely well balanced with the malt. The aftertaste leaves you with a hoppy taste that is not at all bitter. This is a dangerous beer because it hides the 11.5% ABV VERY well.

A light straw colored beer with a fine white lace. Sharp aroma of citrus and alcohol, leaning towards the lemony side of citrus. The alcohol is inescapable, both in the nose and on the palate.
Pretty serious body for such a light colored beer-- this has some viscosity to it. Some nice citron and grapefruit pith going on up front, but it's awash in alcohol and aggressive carbonation. As it warms, some sweetness comes through mid palate, but it's fairly simple and somehow seems like a missed opportunity for any interesting floral or bready flavors to show up. The finish is a bit cloying, which is hard to avoid at this high abv, but there is a nice bitter hoppy afterglow.
Not my favorite of the ridiculously strong IPAs I've tried. It's showy, but rough around the edges.

Ordered by mail from brewery seasonal release.
Clear amber, average head.
Smell is very muted. Caramel, lemon.
Taste is mostly caramel malt balanced by some piney bitterness. Minimal booziness.
Fairly light-bodied.
Overall: Not super crazy or bold in a good or bad way. Just drinks like an old-school wcipa. The only really big achievement here is the hidden alcohol. I’m barely detecting the 11+%. And that’s pretty crazy.
Would not line up for.

A 1 pint can, canned on 27th January 2020. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A nice clear golden orange colour with a two finger white head that had excellent retention and left some nice lacing.
Aroma: Sweet malts, grapefruit, dried candied fruit, citrus peel and notes of pine.
Taste: Sweet malts, caramel, candied grapefruit peel, citrus zest, grapefruit, pine, booze and some light bitterness in the background.
Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Nice candied aroma, but perhaps slightly too sweet and heavy for me. The bitterness in the background does help a bit though.

16oz can poured into a Lagunitas jar.
Slightly hazy orange color-small white head that leaves minimal lacing.
Orange peel, grapefruit and faint pine on the nose and palate. I expected more from such a big beer. Hides the alcohol well.
Medium-low carbonation and pretty easy drinking.
A nice offering but nothing stands out. Glad I tried but nothing I am eager to try again.

Pours a clear straw color with very little head.
Smells lightly of grapefruit and hops. The tastes of citrus and hops are also mild and smooth. This is no hop bomb.
Light in body with medium carbonation. Hides the high alcohol almost too well!
This traditional IPA is a nice contrast to all of the NE IPA's that I have been enjoying lately.
