Can from Brewers Haven. Medium golden, frothy head fades away completely. Mild grainy, bready aroma. Gets better, taste is full on biscuits, bread , saltines, with a nice velvety feel, and small bitter finish.

Uncomplicated and tasty German style lager. I was thirsty after playing pickleball, and this was crisp, slightly grainy, and definitely thirst-quenching. I'd be convinced it was German if I didn't know otherwise, but not so much of its Helles credentials, just not too much sweetness at all. Very good nonetheless.

a real traditional and well made helles lager, i love the style as the weather turns warm each year, and they have really done a great job with this, very much brewed to style, clean, and crushable. my dad and i did some damage on these over the weekend, no doubt. bright golden colored in the glass, quite clear, and with an average inch of settling white head. aroma and flavor are slightly more malt forward than some of the old world examples of the style, a touch richer, giving it a little more grain character throughout. there is a fresh bittering hop element with a soft grass and lemon wrinkle, as well as a doughy german lager yeast that dries the beer right out and helps it finish crisp. there is also an appreciable mineral profile, like care was taken with the water chemistry of this one. i like the way it all comes together in a not too light bodied refresher, lightly herbal as it warms, but i hardly let it. the freshness is obvious, and the quality of the craftsmanship is too. really enjoyed this, and will likely be buying it again. i havent had many from heretic yet, but i have been pretty into all of them so far!

Comfort food, or a decent gateway beer. I like - a lot, actually - but "local" water from NoCal is better for locals than it is for this Appalachian snob.
