Tallboy dated 08/20/20, so almost exactly 6 months old. I seem to be on a run of getting older brews these days - I'll have to return to my 'only buy beer after reading the date' rule.

That said, it's still hoppy and flavorful, a nice West Coaster. I'll have to re-review if I can find a fresh one.

Gorgeous burnt orange color, nearly clear, with a bone-white head that is positively clingy - lacing coats the glass minutes after finishing this WCIPA. Resiny pine and juicy tangerine notes on the nose are stars, but there’s a bready malt aroma that intrigues me.

The citrus flavor is forward - I wonder if Mandarina Bavaria is one of the varietals utilized, because the tangerine is strong with this beer, but so is the resiny pine, yielding a very nicely bitter beer that also has a bready malt flavor that provides a nice balance.

This is really well-executed, IMHO, but I’m a pushover for a bitter WCIPA. This one checks a LOT of boxes.

This is a nice, simple example of the west coast flavor. Nice balance of bitter/resinous and soft/fruity with the bitterness taking the lead and sweeping away the fruity sweetness that sneaks into the middle of each sip. Solid example of the style and a pleasure to drink

Pours a rich amber with an excellent, dense, white cap of foam.
Nose is gentle orange and honeydew Mellon.
Taste has some lemon/grapefruit rind bitterness, followed with that same soft melon character, almost like a sorbet or a mochi. Finishes quite bitter, clearing that mid palate sweetness.nicely
Mouthfeel is full but crisp, very drinkable

Poured into an imperial pint glass a dull light to medium golden with a sticky half finger white head atop.Orange and floral hops stand out most in the nose, mild resin peeks thru a bit as it warms some.A nice mix of candied orange and underlying resin qualities on the palate, fruity but finishes on the dryer side. Not bad,a mix of both sides of the country with its fruit forwardness and slightly bitter resin notes.Well made.

Canned 6/10/20

Appearance - Pours with a slight haze and golden orange in color with an off-white, finger width head. Good retention before dying down to a thin, broken layer of suds and a thick ring around the edge. Lacing is strong, with a couple of chunks, broken webbing and some small spotting.

Smell - Citrus, spice, floral notes and a faint breadiness.

Taste - Follows the nose. Equal parts citrus and floral qualities with a touch of spice. Malts come through beneath with a grainy bread flavor.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Drinks easy enough before a slightly dry finish.

Overall - Not bad by any means, but the flavor profile is not really my cup of tea. Just a bit too floral for me to love.
