We brew this Special Pale Ale exclusively with English Maris Otter floor-malted barley to allow the hops to shine. Featuring a blend of German Hallertaur (80%), Chinook (15%), & Nugget (5%) hops with our Brewhaus yeast creates an up-front, assertive wild flower/candied-orange hop character that is refreshing, dry, and complex.

On draft at BIB. Did not enjoy this one as much as the Overboard IPA and Hoptopias DIPA. The colour is lighter golden copper, solid one finger white head and fair retention and lacing. Smell is distinctly floral and grainy, a light grapefruit but otherwise fairly floral. Flavour is where things go wrong, though. There isn't enough caramel malt sweetness or hop aromatics to backstop the astrigent floral bitterness, which dominates all the way through. It's not all that pleasant, though certainly remains drinkable. I certainly have pushed my lupulin threshold as far as I can go, and I found this to be too astringent. Lighter medium bodied, good carbonation, again very astringent on the backend.
