Our 1, 000th brew! To celebrate this milestone we brewed a German-style Gosë with Big Island grown jaboticaba fruit and red Hawaiian alae sea salt. It's name is also a nod to the notable Star Wars character. Colored by the fruit's purple skin this rosy brew is refreshing and tart with aromas reminiscent of rhubarb and red wine. Thirst-quenching sourness is garnered from both the lactic fermentation's natural acidity and the fruit. To quote the great galactic Jabba "You will soon learn to appreciate me"!

one of my favorite beers from our whole trip to hawaii, and i think my wife would agree, never heard of this unique fruit before this beer, it apparently grows right from the trunk, is a brazilian thing, and they sort of look like little plums, perfectly suited to this impressive gose, never had anything quite like it, and this was exactly the kind of thing i was hoping to find in the big island craft scene, cool local ingredients, clever beers, and this place delivers! pink tinted brew with some wheaty cloudiness, average white head from the tap, good carbonation is apparent. the nose on this is tart, lactic, lemony, sour mashed probably, and quite sour, mouthwatering to me, some tang from the fruit it seems too, lightly vinous like springy rose, some dry cereals there in support, subtle floral notes from the fruit too, very interesting. it hits almost like raspberry in the flavor, maybe light cranberry, dark plum, juicy but tangy, highlighted by the souring, which is pretty prominent, near clean, faintly sweaty but its not out of place. i like all the grain coming through too, this has a lot more body and general malt character than a lot of these and it balances the fruit well. the sale is obvious, drying, and adds a lot to this, perfect base beer to feature this fruit i reckon, and now i want to try it on its own! i was super impressed with the beers in here, creative and distinctive, memorable in this instance, highly recommended. delicious fruited gose with a ton of character, not to be missed when on the big island!

Jabotica gose. Tried from a sample 3.5 glass. Looks red like a Clamato. Sour but very dense for a gose. The flavor Is unfamiliar but tasty, somewhat. This beer isn’t very different and a neat experience but wouldn’t order again to be honest
