Pitch black pour with a strong smell of sweet caramelized sugars and bourbon barrel goodness. The taste on this is fantastic. Sweet candied fruit with a solid dose of bourbon oak barrel. This is really smooth for 15% with no harsh alcohol burn just a nice warming. This has a perfect viscosity, coating my mouth with the flavors lingering for a while.
This is a great beer that I wouldn't mind having more of.

12oz into a snifter
L - pours very dark, but not completely black - more like cola syrup. Not much head, thick and syrupy legs
S - caramel, dates and an undercurrent of cola syrup. not getting a ton of the barrel, but it smells fantastic
T - Boozy and sweet with toned down hops and a nice slightly astringent finish so it isn't sickly (black malt?) with some hop bite. Not getting a heap of the barrel either here, perhaps a bit more of a vanilla oakiness than bourbon
F - Medium full with soft carb
Overall a really tasty beer - would be very happy to have more of this!

15% according to the person pouring in the outside tent. A bb black barleywine and a damn good one. Not quite Founders 2010 Nemesis, but pretty close.
Probably the favorite I've tried from here.
