Stark oily black with a quick to fizzle out burnt mocha blanket leaving only the thinnest chain around the edge.
Spicy, dusty cinnamon bark perfumes the nose as the stout mildly tamps it down into brown sugar cinnamon toast that nears Cinnamon Toast Crunch and brown sugar Pop Tart territory. I don't get much else but that on the nose, but I can't really complain about it either.
On the palate, spicy cinnamon that's almost like Red Hots is also a bit scratchy. When combined with the whiskey heat it actually mimics Mexican Cake at times, even though there are no peppers. Next up comes a waxy, almost vegetal coconut. Unlike the vanilla bean variant, this still maintains the round, savory nutty and molasses fortified chocolate roast of the base around the middle palate, but the cinnamon and spicy, numbing whiskey come back with a vengeance on the back end, really making their marks altering this beer altogether.
The round, full body that's slick and sticky at first is cut by a thin crisp fizz before a chewy yet powder dry finish. It's another boozy one, however.
