This one yields more head than I’m used to with WH stouts. The nose is mostly dark roast and barrel, with a hint of vanilla sweetness.
The taste follows, but the coffee isn’t as strong as I would’ve liked. The buttery barrel notes coupled with subtle vanilla on the finish though make this a pretty formidable sipper on a Sunday NFL afternoon.
I love Sweet Lou, and this was a pleasant take on the base beer.
