Pours a medium brown color with a foamy tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma is caramel and roasted malts. Taste is tangy with a slightly bitter finish. Smooth and creamy.

Pours a hazy orange brown

Smell is lightly smoky and thats about it.

Taste is strong on smoke and not a lot else, slightly sweet with hints of wheat. Very watered down tasting, the flavors here dont mix well.

Very thin mouthfeel, light on the carbanation.

Now before i get into all the wrongs this beer did me i want to say that i really like smoked beers and was excited to try this as i had heard good things about witchs hat. This beer was just bad it really was unbalanced with strong smoke over powering a slightly waterdown tasting beer.It literally left a bad taste in my mouth and left me feeling kinda sick.I cant belive this beer has such a good rating.

Sorry to be a dick but holy bad beer batman.

This is a very good smoked beer, especially if you are new to smoked beers, or don't like over-powering ones (like me).

A- Not going to lie, I don't remember the appearence.
S- Smokey smell, but not as heavy as you would expect. Slight maltyness
T- Amazing! Initial flavors of malt and wheat, with a slight smokeyness. On the back, though, the smoke flavor hits a lot heavier and lingers. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it is not an animal smokeyness (I've had some beers that have straight up tasted like bacon), but more of a fire smokeyness. Again, that probably makes no sense whatsoever. Anyways, the flavor isn't over-powerful, it is well balanced and makes the beer drinkable.
M- Very good. Mid to full bodied, feels great in the mouth, and the smoke flavor lingers, but not in a way that makes you feel like you are choking.

Overall this is a really good smoked beer! Definitely give it a whirl if you have the chance, even if you have never had/don't really care for smoked beers.

This is a very engaging beer. The hazy uniform opacity you expect in a Hefe, but somewhat darker in color. The smokey character fills the nose followed by a malty sweetness. Wheat is very pronounced in the flavor and a biscuity, bready quality that lingers very nicely on the tongue. Tasty with a good medium body and the aftertaste that leaves you wanting more.

This is certainly one of the most unique beers i've ever tasted. I know "unique" doesn't necessarily mean good, but in this case it does - and then some. At first sip, I realized I had entered somewhat unchartered waters...and I liked it.

The smoke is the first thing you notice, but not in an over-powering way - it's extremely well-balanced and adds something extra to what would've already been a fantastic beer. The aroma, body, and mouthfeel are all in perfect harmony the 1908 definitely leaves you wanting more.
