Brought back from Brazil, best by 2021/08/20
Pours a light fizzy smaller head with good retention at least, soapy lacing, hazy med orange-reddish color
Nose is interesting, a nice spicy rye with a little fruity character, malt as well with toasted reddish malt and some toasted bread crust, a little candy malt note, some spicy earthy hops in the background, lots of grainy bread
Taste brings more malt out front, sweet malt but not quite candy level, lots of toasted reddish malt with bread crust and more seedy grainy whole grain bread, a bit of spicy rye, as well as the fruity component, hops bring some spicy earthy flavors with med bitterness, a little fruity ester from hops and probably yeast, a touch of caramel and candy late, drier mild sticky finish, med spicy hop bitterness, some toasted reddish malt lingering with a little fruity spicy rye
Mouth is med bod, med to a bit higher carb
Overall an interesting beer, decent IPA, malt-forward old-school IPA with nice balance, interesting rye characters added to it, fruity esters, actually a nice rye IPA
