Pint on-tap at the brewery with a meal.

Hopnoxious pours a hazy, reddish copper hue with a healthy cap of light custard foam. Decent retention and lacing. Lots of amber malts in the aroma, with some doughy, caramel sweetness too. The hops are sharp and citrusy in the nose, and have some floral qualities as well.

Amber malts echoed in the flavor, with a nutty, bread crust malt note on the front of the tongue. Lots of hop bitterness on the finish with notes of pine and resin, but this IPA could use more all-around hop flavor. Felt a bit unbalanced at times, with a boozy bite on the end. Mouthfeel is thick and medium-bodied, with a good carbonation level. Hopnoxious sets out to be an in-your-face IPA, and does a fairly decent job of doing so. But still, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was drinking a hoppy amber ale.

A: Clear, Amber color, white head fades quickly.

S: Notes of apricot with big pine rosin spicy hops aroma.

T: Mild peach sweetness is hit too soon by hops bitterness that to intense to distinguish individual components.

M: Rich mouthfeel and mild carbonation up front, very dry finish.

D: The alcohol percentage shows that they used a lot of malt, but not enough to balance the intense hop character. The hops kills you palette too quickly for the mild malt to keep up.

A - Pours up amber orange with an off white head that leaves good lacin

S - subtle hop aroma with a sweet malt background

T - A hoppy oasis in a mild beer desert. Malt sweetness balanced by a big peppry bitterness. Amarillo I assume.

M - nice full body with good carbonation

D - despite the 7% alcohol, a well balnced beer I wouldn't have expected from FBC. I hope they brew it a lot.
