Appearance: Clear and deep copper color with a large off-white head, thick broken lace, light carbonation.

Aroma: Prominent citrus hops and mild, sweet maltiness.

Taste: Opens with a well-balanced citrus hops notes, beneath there is a mild, slightly toasty malt character. The hop presence, predominately orange and less pine tar linger well past the end of the taste.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, full-bodied, very pleasant, little carbonation felt.

Drinkability/notes: A very well crafted example of the style, with a good balance between malt and hop presence. One of the better APAs that I have ever tried. Many thanks to my friends at BOCK for the gift of a growler of this excellent beer.

While the town is great, the brewery has atmosphere, the Biergarten is fun and the food is tasty, this selection from the Fredericksburg BC is just not that great. Sharp taste and bitter aftertaste don't really help it's otherwise average rating. Ok if you don't like the others offered, but be daring and try one of the other selections.
