2014 vintage; drank 11/6/14 @ Harvest Hop Haus.
Bottle #112 of 586.
Brown/black hue.
No head; no lace.
Coffee, cognac & mild pepper heat in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Heat daggers on the tongue immediately give way to kiwi juice tartness. Sweet heat settles on the lips over time.
Unique & delicious.

I don't understand the negative ratings. I had a bottle from the 2015 batch and thought it was outstanding. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Not a bad beer, a bit hot. Might be better with aging and trying again down the road.

My luck with 3 Floyds BA beers is not good. BA Moloko was fizzy granny smith apples and this is an infected train wreck. A jumble of incoherent flavors, no clear idea of what the base beer really was. There's a milk stout hidden under there? Huh; that's a surprise to me. Thin, sourish, some grape bubbleyum or hubba bubba. I love port and wine barrel aged beers but the Carcavelos barrels were wasted on this.
Side note, it's funny to have to rate "feel" or "look" on a beer this bad. So, sure, it looked like an OK beer ... but why is that meaningful?

A- Jet black body, brownish/red head fades super fast to nothing
S- coffee, red wine, oak, roasted malt, milk sugar
T- wow. This took on all the good character of red wine. Sweet red, oak, bit of roasted malt. Much more of a wine then beer, but awesome. Pepper comes in right at the end very subtle. Well put together.
M- medium red wine
O- the best wine barrel stout I've had. If you like red wine or port, you'll love this.
