This Coffee IPA is the perfect choice if you find yourself awoken by the sound of thunder...especially while sitting around, wondering how far off said thunder is from your current location.

Well this one was rather surprising. Here goes:
A: Pours a clear orange-gold. Little head and virtually no lacing. Body carbonation is OK, though.
S: Floral, citrus, and tropical hops interspersed with a weird espresso twang. Very interesting, but I think I'd rather just have a regular IPA.
T: Alright. Lots of coffee mixed in with a faint smattering of hops. Coffee, flowers, and some lighter fruit. But overwhelmingly coffee.
F: Good. Well-carbonated.
O: A good beer.

Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Where's the IPA? Nose is coffee. Look is an APA dark and pretty clear. Minimal head. Taste is coffee, and caramel. I can't find the hops in the front or the back. Alcohol doesn't hit till the end and isn't a note at all. I didn't dislike this beer but I definately was deceived by the look and the taste was more of a novelty. If I hadn't had permanent funeral before this I probably would have asked for an exchange. I finished lunch and this wasn't a bad pallet cleanser. Don't look forward to more from this beer, you will be disappointed. However I never found anything off putting , just wasn't a very good mouth pleaser as far as the hops and mouth feel go.

On tap at 3 Floyds in a pint glass September 25, 2015.
Look - White head dissipates to ring but still leaves nice lacing. Golden clear body. Medium bubbles.
Smell - Coffee. Bubblegum. Light hops.
Taste - Coffee takes over. Coffee pale ale.
Feel - I like how the coffee and hop bitterness merges but doesn't over power. Smooth. Doesn't sit well in stomach, but didn't go down bad.
Overall - Coffee pale ale. Awesome. Comes together well despite presumptions.
