I'm guessing this is BA Blot out the Sun based on the flavors.

on tap at FFF brewpub. enjoy the base beer and this didn't disappoint. barrel came through nicely and added depth and complexity. not nearly at the same level of the cognac BA blot, but holds its own.

Had on-tap at the source. Received in a "perception" glass.
3.5 A: Super black color. Came with just a wisp of medium brown head.
4.0 S: Good mix of base beer and brandy barrel. Vinous undertones with lots of oak and vanilla. Chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, black currants, and caramel.
4.25 T: Again good mix but slightly barrel forward. Moderate bitterness, emphasis on chocolate. Moderate booze. Otherwise like nose.
4.5 M: Heavy medium to heavy body. Good moderate carbonation. Rich, velvety creaminess.
4.25 D: Excellent beer and well balanced.
