A: Bright orange pour that turns into a nice honey color. Two finger head with some lacing, yet caves in quickly and reduces to a 3/4-1inch rim.
S: Very hard to pick up notes. Subtle citrus is all I can pick up.
T: Diluted pine and carb. After second full pour, it turns into a creamy cantaloupe taste. Medium dry finish.
MF: Creamy, if it was fresh it would definitely resemble a creamy and supple double IPA.
O: This was bottled on 9/27/17 and I am very disappointed. This would have been a very flavorful, creamy, and bright IPA if it was fresh. Was very reluctant to review this. This is the epitome of a punch that starts off strong and can't follow through. Or a season of a tv show of that you only get to see a portion of on reruns. I wanted to try this IPA so bad considering it isn't brewed often and it has come up short.

A friend of mine brought me a bomber of this when he stopped at the brewery on his way to visit Cleveland a few week ago. Don't think I've ever seen this specific one on the shelves anywhere here in my area, so this is a real treat. Thanks Jon! Poured into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a slightly cloudy/hazy medium golden/light copper color with a nice, while, fluffy, just slightly off-white head that's well over an inch thick when first poured with excellent retention. Aromas of slightly toasted, bready, caramel malt sweetness along with a tropical, fruity citrus and melon, a slight herbal grassiness and some piney hops. The taste is pretty much the same, with some just slightly toasted, biscuit, bready, caramel malt sweetness upfront that gives way to some nice honeydew melon notes that add another dimension to the sweetness along with some grassy herbless and a hint of oats too. This is then balanced nicely by a pineapple citrus, piney, earthy hop flavor that gives a nice bitterness. Good balance of flavors. Has a fairly crisp, just slightly oily and chewy, yet smooth and somewhat frothy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish with a slightly dry aftertaste. Very glad I got a chance to try this one.

22oz bottle dated 9/27/17 poured into a Tekyu
A: Hazy pale orange with a generous two-finger head
S: Wow. Quite complex with citrus (orange/lemon), tropical fruit (pineapple/mango), hints of pine/herbs/earth
T: More grassy/herbal than the nose, the citrus/tropical fruit take second stage. Still plenty going on
M: Medium-bodied, dry/bitter
O: A nice mix of hops showcased nicely by FFF

22 ounce bottle into signature teku glass, bottled on 9/27/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, lime, tangerine, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, papaya, mango, melon, citrus zest, pepper, pine, honey, lightly toasted bread, herbal, wood, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/tropical/citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, lime, tangerine, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, papaya, mango, melon, citrus zest, pepper, pine, honey, lightly toasted bread, herbal, wood, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, lime, tangerine, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, papaya, mango, melon, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, lightly toasted bread, herbal, wood, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/tropical/citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 7.5%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/tropical/citrus/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very unique hop profile from the 484 experimental hop. Great mix of juicy, earthy, and dank hop complexity; balanced bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

Experimental, exotic and exciting, the trial-and-error blend of hops that has become the FloyDivision series now promises a collection of hop tastes that span tropical fruit, honeydew, cedar and herbs.
FloyDivision III pours with the iconic hazy gold and light amber color, topped with a thick blanket of foam as do many a great and formidable IPA. Its scent leads with tropical fruit and citrus but its grassy, fruity and floral woods play a mellow backdrop in comparison. Light caramel, honey and granola coat the tongue with a brisk malt taste as they prepare the palate for the showcase of hops to come.
And as the sweetness drifts away, the hops simply blossom on the middle palate. Mango, apricot and pineapple shed a strong tropical succulence on the tongue, followed by orange, pink grapefruit and a pep of lemon. Juicy with cantaloup, a mellow peach-like taste trends into an herbal medley of chive, geranium and damp hemp. Fragrant woods turn to spicy resins with the curious tannic bite of sassafras, tea and a cedar-like bitterness to sting the late palate.
Medium bodied and drying more and more as the taste evolves, the hop's sharp resins keeps the taste spicy and succinct. Creamy, malty and dry, FloyDivision III has a Germanic lemon pepper and lemongrass herbal nature but with hints of catty herbs and a tropic tang.
