Brewed in collaboration with North Carolinian brethren Burial Beer Co and Sugar Creek Malt, this amber lager speaks vehemently to the terroir of the Midwest. Pilsner, Vienna, Munich and Maple Smoked malts were decocted for robust malt complexity. Fermented and lagered on yellow birch wood. Notes of sweet smoke, warm honeyed croissant, peanut brittle and the last cold night of spring.

This beer sounds really interesting to me. Excited to try it. Poured from a bomber into a pint glass. This pours out a perfect clear amber golden color and has a thin white crown. The smell is sweet and smokey. The smoke is balanced and doesn't smell burnt. Smells like a healthy smoke. The sweet is a lighter sweet, like a creamed corn type of sweetness. The taste delivers on a lot of that as well. I don't know if it's something about how balanced the smoke is but it goes perfect with the sweet creamy like corn notes. This balance is impressive in a smoke beer. Mouthfeel is surprisingly not too dry for being smokey in the nose and taste. This is very good. I wish I had another bottle. That sweetness is just perfect.
And another note. This beer goes greeeat with my fish alfredo, corn and garlic bread dinner.
