We made a cold-brew coffee beer with our Robert the Bruce Scottish-style Ale and a custom dark roast from Chicago's Dark Matter Coffee. Full-bodied with a well-rounded malty profile and roasted biscuit-like notes.

Man that is a great beer. Tried this one on tap at 3 Floyds. Looks great, deep dark brown, almost black oily color that was opaque and coated with a thin white film of head, small clinging areas of spotty lingering lacing. Smells incredible, deep rich dark roast coffee along with mocha chocolate, caramel, vanilla, malt, light roasted nuts and a hint of sweet ripe raisin. Taste follows the nose, great balance and depth. Feels like more than a 6.5% ABV beer. Smooth, slightly sticky, moderately rich mouthfeel and just the right amount of carbonation. Aromas open up even more as the beer warms. Just incredible balance and coffee flavors. Better than the original Robert the Bruce. Well done!
