Pours black and swallows all light that comes into its orbit, sporting a foamy tan head that lingers a bit. Beautiful BA imperial stout.
The nose is immediately boozy from both barrels, with the cinnamon, cocoa nibs, and tangerine peel well represented.
But where are the Guajillo peppers?
They are lurking at the lurking at the back of the palate, swinging a sledgehammer of flavor (a nice spicy pepper note) and heat that is warming, playing off the barrel notes, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, and surprisingly refreshing tangerine flavor. Wow.
The mouthfeel is the requisite Dark Lord mouthfeel, very full, oily, and slightly creamy. I was sure, with seven years of whiskers, that this would’ve dropped off significantly.
It did not. Dark Lord have mercy, it did not.

Appearance - The beer poured the deep black color of Dark Lord with a bubbly tan head crowning the pour.
Smell - The spice was evident in the nose, cinnamon more so than the peppers. The rich chocolatey sweetness was also noted.
Taste - The thick molasses sweetness of Dark Lord was strong despite the variants. The orange peel was most evident toward the front. Tequila notes and the spice came toward the back. The peppers left a surprising impact on the back of the throat. After two years in the cellar, I expected them to mellow. The peppers were more prominent than the cinnamon in terms of spice. The tequila barrel lingered in the aftertaste with the spice. Being a big tequila fan, I enjoyed this.
Mouthfeel - The carbonation was long ago suffocated out of this stout to create smooth sweet motor oil.
Overall - Tequila and spice make this one special.

Bomber at my retirement party. Black pour with a thin beige ring. Cinnamon dominates the aroma, also roasty malts, boozy. Taste introduces Mexican chcoolate and tequila barrel, light vanilla. Big, booziness, in your face ABV. Monster!

Pours pitch dark black with no foam even on aggressive pour. Smell is of cinnamon and orange peel with a hint of tequila. The flavor has all the adjuncts and barrels present. The start is noticeable orange/mandarin peel, with some cinnamon kicking in once you get your gulp. The end of the sip and aftertaste has a big pepper spice kick. You can also tell there is some tequila at the very end too but it is predominantly bourbon boozy most of the way. There is very little carbonation and the feel is thinner than almost any Dark Lord variant I've had (which was surprising) but there is not doubt this was an interesting beer and an enjoyable one to drink.
