Three Floyds, Anniversary IX Fantabulous Resplendence. This may surprise my other fellow tasters, who weren't that big into this beer, but I really enjoyed it! I think this is another beer that a lot of women, as long as you like hops, will particularly enjoy as well. It's made with Jasmine! It pours clear orange. It smelled like beautiful, floral fresh jasmine tea, slight citrus fruits, and hoppy. It tasted like hops and jasmine tea dancing in your mouth! Not in an overwhelmingly way either. Just beautiful. I would definitely love to serve this one at a party as an aperitif or try to pair it with dinner.

On-tap at Three Floyds. Served in the same snifter/goblet thing they use here.
A - Hazed opaque orange-red color - quite attractive actually. A half finger of white foam and some spotty lacing.
S - All I can taste is bourbon, vanilla, and barrel. There's some nice caramel apple flavor happening there as well. I have no idea what the base beer tasted like, but the barrel has totally taken over here. Supposedly this has spent two years in the barrel!
T - Tons of bourbon, coconut, butterscotch, vanilla, and some light woodiness. There's a bit of bitterness in the finish but I'm thinking that's as much from the tannic woodiness as it is from the hops. There's some caramel malt, but not a lot of burnt sugar character, which differentiates it from a BA barleywine like Abacus. Surpisingly clean aftertaste, although it's all bourbon when I burp.
M - There's some slight tingly carbonation, a medium smooth body, and lots of alcohol warmth. Since the base beer is 10.5% I'm guessing this is at least 12%.
D - This is a sipper. It's gonna be a tough to kill more than a glass of this one. Definitely an evening-ender here.

Glad I was able to have the opportunity to try this one. The original beer has been long gone over two years ago. This has been aged in Woodford Reserve barrels for two years.
A - Pours a hazy copper rust color with an off-white head into a snifter. There's some lacing left behind on the sides and after you swirl it around a bit.
S - Huge bourbon nose on this one. Coconuts, malts, but mostly just straight up Woodford Reserve Bourbon!
T - Smooth bourbon, coconut, roasted nuts, malts. Also, a small bitter kick on the finish, but that could possibly be the bourbon again. Sweet and roasty, damn good.
M - Medium bodied, light carbonaton (which is perfect), oily finish. This one really engulfs the palate and is very smooth in both feel and finish.
D - Pretty damn hot and 100% a sipper. Don't know if I can do more then one in a session but who knows when or if I'll ever see this one again.
