A pale imperial stout aged for over a year in bourbon barrels. With a not-normal appearance from the use of pale malt, it boasts a monstrous decadence from mountains of malted oats, along with the additions of vanilla beans, blonde roast coffee and tons of cocoa nibs.

Tried a 2021 bottle in 2025.
Pours a dark brown, almost dark rust in color. Tiny tan head. Nose is bourbon and slightly metallic. Taste is caramel, then bourbon and the a tobacco flavor. Nice warmth builds down the throat.

The last of my 12 oz. bottles from a couple of four packs. That’s called foreshadowing.

Non-black stouts always weird me out, like Seether covering Careless Whisper (actually that’s just awful). Turbid rust, barleywinesque, warm bourbon, brown sugar, vanilla on the nose.

Yella Rrari is a warm throatpie of bourbon & caramel. Bourbon threads its way from start to finish along with a weighty dose of Christmas caramel. Mid-palate comes vanilla, brown sugar, sherry (very distinctly), with a lick of chocolate on the finish. Coffee/roast is MIA. Booze, however, is prominent. Light compared to the current pastry stout craze, this is one I could put down a few of & likely live to regret it.

Excellent beer that reminded me what this old-ass brewery can do with a barrel.

12 ounce bottle, looks like it says bottled 02-19-21. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a kinda murky copper/brown color with not quite a half inch tan head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing either. Aroma is mostly sweet, the brew smells like vanilla, brown sugar, cocoa, caramel, coffee and a bit of raisin. Taste is sweet just like the aroma, with vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, raisin, coffee, bourbon, oak, cocoa, toffee, sherry, prune and earthy flavors. Aroma and taste are definitely on the sweet side, with a good amount of barrel character. Mostly sweet tasting but not overpoweringly so. Seems more like an English style barleywine to me, but I'm not complaining! Mouthfeel/body is full, it's rich and a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was pretty good, wish I would have bought more. I know I'll pick up more the next time I come across it!

Very thick, like a runny caramel ice cream topping. Sweet, sticky Carmel & vanilla flavors with bourbon and coffee on the back end. Stout, barleywine, Old Ale? Whatever, but a lot of everything soaked in a barrel.

12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 2/10/21, had 6/18/21.

Pours a semi opaque copper color, with no head and some spotty cling. Aromas of coffee, malt, oak, char, caramel, some bourbon, some chocolate and brown sugar, light vanilla, a little maple. More prominent bourbon begins the flavor, then coffee, malt, vanilla, chocolate, some brown sugar. It’s fairly sweet. Smooth, a very good medium body, appropriately carbonated.

This is pretty unique and interesting. The aromas and flavors are kind of layered and complex, and the add- ins show well. Solid barrels and balanced. Very enjoyable.

12oz bottle. Etched on bottle neck is 'BOTTLED 02-18-21'. Elaborate, gold, black, and a small red detail label with the descriptive details in shiny accents.
Amber brown colored body. Brief beige head, but this turns into an active surface storm of rising bubbles. No lacing.
Aroma of bourbon soaked caramel, along with cocoa and vanilla. Coffee note is vague.
Taste is very rich, and adds a cinnamon flavor to the sweet caramel, cocoa, and vanilla. Coffee may be there but seems to be covered by the rich sweetness. Sweet cocoa extends into the aftertaste.
Thicker mouth feel, with syrup. Sticky on the lips. Carbonation is mostly for show, and does not show up in the mouth.
Higher ABV% does not burn, but does warm the gut. A true sipper or a choice for a dessert brew.
