This fiendish Wild Ale was aged for six months in our wooden foeders and brewed with mangos and fresh mango juice, along with a mixed-yeast we propagated in-house.

This is a good beer that is also quite sessionable. The mango is tasty but also very sweet, and it feels like there could easily be added sugars in the juice used.

Pour is bright and weirdly translucent. A bit of fizz at the beginning but rather still-looking soon afteward.
Aroma is sharp and very funky, kinda like the brett of old but even more intense and sweat-like. Not entirely unpleasant but also not great.
Flavor comes together much better than the aroma, but the shock tart+musk aftertaste is a bit much to bear. Very sweet up front, very bitter and funky in the middle, and VERY VERY bitter on the finish.

After really enjoying OG Foeder Fiend, I had to give this new mango variant a shot when I saw it on the shelf. I didn’t buy multiple 4 packs of this one like I did for the original, but maybe trying this single bottle will convince me to do the same. Let’s get into it
Pours a cloudy dark orange gold with a finger of off white head that quickly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose on this one is a bit odd, with maybe just a hint of diacetyl unfortunately. I’m picking up on aromas of mango skin, lemon juice, bready malt, crabapple, wet hay, tart kiwi, buttery oak, strawberry, and a touch of diacetyl
Thankfully that minor diacetyl note is not present in taste, and it has a bracing yet balanced tartness. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting tart mango, lemon juice, crackery malt, green apple, wet hay, tannic white wine, sharp oak, and light honey. The swallow brings notes of mango skin, green apple, lemon juice, dried apricot, sharp oak, wet hay, crackery malt, light kiwi, and white wine vinegar
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes bone dry and refreshingly tart
The aroma is definitely a bit odd and it’s not as good as the original, but this is pretty damn enjoyable overall. Good stuff

In the world of kettle, 3 Floyds continues to be a foeder. They're not afraid to embrace the wood, or the mangos, or the sourness that exacerbates today's trendy sour scene.
Mango Foeder Fiend pours frothy with a light honey golden hue. As its sparkling carbonation fuels a short froth, its souring scent provides a jaw-tightening and saliva-enducing scent of sour green berry, tropical tang, cider, citrus, wine and a light burlap musk. Scantly sweet, the beer hits the tongue with the lightness of honeysuckle and wafer in a short but succinct malt profile.
The story of the beer is clearly about the bracingly sourtaste as its brisk, spicy and sharp acidity washes the middle palate with a striking sour taste of warheads, under ripened berry, crabapple, sour white grape, lime, gooseberry, lemon and something off-vinegar. The mangos add a deeper shade of tropical succulent sourness with its own orange and apricot impressions before turning woodsy with cedar and balsa with a fine mustiness of dry leather, weathered oak and burlap once more.
Light, crisp and highly refreshing, the beer washes away any thirst with ease, leaving behind a piquant sourness in puckering fashion. Light tannins, alcohol spice and a short linger of sourness extends with a brief echoes of tropical fruit rinds and sourdough.
