Another great find at Aurora Brew Works!
Got a good whiff of sweet pine from arm’s length but the nose trailed off sharply. At first almost clear then translucent apricot color with better than a two finger stiff foamy head that faded slowly leaving sheets of lacing. The combination of the sweet doughy malt flavor mixed well with pine tropical fruit and grassiness is bold and lingers really well. Full bodied, nicely carbonated, creamy smooth with a bite of that resin ending. An orange tangerine fruity characteristic picked up further in as if warmed up. Another impressive Imperial IPA from 3 Floyd’s!!

Poured a pint can high into spiegelau ipa glass. Beautiful dense head persists and leaves elegant sticky lace. Can graphics very fancy Halloweenish; ale in glass equally artistic with hazy SRM 5 brownish gold sizzling teensy bubbles. Aroma is sweet, like hops spun cotton candy. Taste a fine balance of bitter, funky earth, green cone petals, neon lupulin. Mouthfeel lusciously lubricated, oily bitter just the way I like it. Carbonation is perfect. Goes so well with a sourdough beer pretzel I wouldn't want any other food lest I get distracted. So glad this beast came to Ithaca!

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of fresh tropical and citrus fruit, very nice blend. Tastes of bright citrus and tropical fruit with slight piney notes. Beer is medium bodied yet very easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

L: hazed apricot colored DIPA with a tall & frothy cream colored head
S: citrus, peach, mango, pine, caramelized grain
T: caramel, white bread crust, grapefruit, pithy orange, apricot, peach, mango, earthy pine, tea leaf
F: fuller body, moderate carbonation, starts out sweeter but ends pungently bitter as advertised
O: this is one fantastic DIPA. Reminds me of Permanent Funeral

pretty massive beast. i rate it highly but your mileage may vary.
L: from the can and the can is a beautiful crazy mess. Not unlike the brew.
S: big nose with burnt caramel and pine.
T: sweet stone fruit then the "bitter hoppy abyss" as they call it. that about sums it up.
F: medium weight, smooth mouthfeel.
O: great outfit, great brew. if you're looking for refined balance, this ain't it. but if the hoppy abyss beckons, this could be a fav.

16 oz. Can

Been years since last having anything from 3 Floyds. Glad to see them around.
Poured into a Trillium glass a very nice cloudy dark orange color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is very nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, peach, mango, apricot, nectarine, grapefruit, pineapple, papaya, melon, guava), very nice diesel/pine like. The taste is very nice, hoppy, malty, with a very nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, peach, mango, apricot, nectarine, grapefruit, pineapple, papaya, melon, guava), pretty nice sweetness, very nice diesel/pine like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty beer.

Canned 07/22/25. into a Troegs pint glass.
Pours a clear golden with great foam. Aroma is stone fruit and overripe sweet grapefruit with a hint of bitterness. Flavor is all overripe sweet fruit and caramel malt alongside a brutal bitterness typical of 3Floyds. There's tons of tropical fruit and a lot of sugars, but also an extremely abrasive hop bitterness alongside that. A lot of 3Floyds IPAs sit between very sweet and extremely bitter, and this one is a fantastic example of how to balance extreme malt sweetness and alcohol content and hop flavor and bitterness. Body is very high, you can tell it's 8.5%, and it's definitely a sipper. I do like how aggressive it is, but it is a little hard to drink for the ABV relative to most 3Floyds.
Overall, I like most 3Floyds Imperial IPAs better, but this one isn't bad. The extremely tropical character sets it apart and makes it fun to drink in between the monstrous bitterness.

Gold in color with a densely packed inch of off white. Heavy, soapy lacing. Lots pine aroma. Massive pine and citrus flavor. The mouth is sticky and dry.

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed copper-amber color with a large head of white foam. The head has a great level of retention, fading over time and leaving tons of foamy and streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is huge of tropical fruits and citrus with a blast of mango, pineapple, tangerine, papaya, and guava. Along with the big sweet fruit aromas comes some nice smells of a grapefruit and pine hop as well as notes of cracker and doughy malt.
Taste – The taste begins with a strong showing of a bready and doughy malt flavor mixed with a strong presence of the hop that was in the nose, particularly of the grapefruit note. The fruit flavors are there as well, with a strong showing of tangerine as well as some other flavors of guava, mango, apricot, and peach. As the taste advances the hop profile, while still strong in grapefruit, shifts a bit taking on more herbal and pine hops. Toward the end, as the brew sits on the tongue, more and more fruit and malt build, leaving one with a rather creamy, citrusy, but smooth more west coast like flavor.
Mouthfeel – The body is thick and rather heavy with a moderate and fine carbonation level.
Overall – A rather nice and robust, hearty IPA that shows a lot of west coast aspects with a more east coast body.

Copper to bronze in color with a thick, off white, frothy and sticky head. Of course there is a lot of great lacing. Caramel and pine on the nose. Taste was slightly fruity, lots of pine and dankness. Good amount of bitterness on palate!
