Pours very dark. Thick tan foam. Light coffee aroma. Very bold hop body. Light roasted malt finish. Very little maltiness to this. Not much complexity. The hops overwhelm everything else. A big disappointment.

Poured from a 12 oz can. Pours pitch black with a sexy mocha head. Aroma and flavor feature dark roasted malts, vanilla, cocoa, and piney hops. This is more of a black IPA than an Irish stout. I'm not sure why it's not classified as an American stout. Oh well, it's very tasty regardless of how it's classified.

More bitter and lighter than I hoped for. I'd say like a decent Irish stout, though nothing to bring me back to this one again.

Poured from the 12oz can into an imperial pint glass. The beer is nearly pure black, with some fizzy bubbles peeking through the edges. Almost no light. Head was dark tan and foamy, a really nice head that Rose to about 3 fingers surprisingly fast and left chunky lacing. Smell is apparent right when opening, surprisingly hoppy up front with aome pine and earthiness, then settling in to chocolate and roasted notes. A bit of licorice maybe in there. Coffee. Taste is more on the roasted side with a big coffee flavor and chocolate around the edges. A bit of char maybe and then some of the piney hops. Not so much chocolate on the taste, more roasty. Feel is somewhat light and dry, true to style. Leaves a bit of drying tingle on the tongue. Overall this is a really flavorful and drinkable beer. More on the bitter and hoppy side and a bit of a lighter body. A nice change of pace for a stout. Recommend.

Strange but this one is really not working for me. Love this outfit, but this beer is not for me. Not sure if it’s a bad or a bad batch but Flavors are so light as to be nonexistent. Just getting a tiny Little bit of chocolate, how much aroma. Not much of anything.

Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet: color is black, head is tan and presents one finger thick, head dissipates to thin top, no lacing.
Smell is chocolate, light toast, touch of coffee, earthy and grassy hops.
Taste is similar with chocolate, toast, light coffee, cream like, hops are earth/grass/light pine.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness.
Overall a great stout - full flavor, moderate sweetness, light hopping and lingering bitterness.
