750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Black with some transparency. Decent khaki head. Thick collar.
Smell - Oak and some fruity notes. Vanilla. Some chocolate.
Taste - Sweet up front. A lot of brandy flavors. Fruity malts. Chocolate is secondary. A little roasty at the end.
Mouthfeel - It's boozy up front, but dies down as the barrel flavors subside. Medium body.
Overall - A little boozy, but otherwise an approachable BA beer.

2012 edition. Poured from a hand-labeled bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark, dark brown pour with 2 fingers of creamy off-white head. Nice ring of lacing.
S: Cocoa, roasted grains, caramel, and bourbon.
T.F: Follows the nose. Sweet and roasty up front... strong chocolate and vanilla. Light on the booze but a little residual heat and the bourbon is definitely present. Some caramel notes.. oak and tannins. Creamy on the tongue... medium bodied.
O: Overall a very tasty bourbon barrel aged Baltic Porter... and after 7 years a lot of the heat is gone but you still get some of the bourbon/whiskey. At this age it's definitely a mellowed beer but with a lot of residual flavor. I'm a big fan of the Floyds and this was well worth getting to sample.
