Wandering Haze is a juicy, citrusy, Cisco Brewers' take on the New England style IPA. It's thick and smells of tropical fruit, lime zest and stone fruit. Coming in at 6.8% ABV it's a full-bodied, hazy IPA, with medium bitterness.

This is my local go-to for a year-round available, reasonably priced, and local higher ABV hazy IPA.
Juicy, good punch, perhaps slightly less pine than might be ideal which puts it just a touch off-balance in my opinion.
I'm grading it against my all time favorite and no longer available Dogfish Head Hazy Ripple. Wandering Haze is great, it just falls a little short of my all-time. If I had to guess why, I'd say that the flavor is a little less complex, and that it seems to lose it's vibrancy about 2/3 of the way through a can.

Draft at Gillette stadium
Fizzy creamy head, fair retention, hazy cloudy pale color
Nose citrus, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, light doughy malt and water softening mineral notes
Taste more citrus, soft orange cream, creamy doughy malt, touch chalky mineral water softening, little juicy grapefruit and pith, little bitterness on the finish
Mouth is med bod, fair soft juicy, med carb
Overall eh, average for the style

WANDERING
Wandering Haze Hazy IPA
Cisco Brewers
IPA New England / Hazy
Lemon drops and grapefruit is upfront in the hop taste. Smooth and juicy, bit with a slightly slick malty texture in the finish. Earthy gritty flavor and feel is subtle but strange. A rather off kilter NE Hazy that has its charms but remains an oddity

I liked this the first time that I tried it, but have liked it less each time, something off about the taste.

From a 12 oz. can dated Feb 20, 2022. Sampled March 26, 2022.
The appearance is not the milky, hazy orange-amber you come to expect in the style. It is more of a foggy or cloudy orange-amber under a modest, lasting white head.
I pick up tropical fruits and especially grapefruit in the aroma with a lower profile cereal grain character. But I also get a kind of vegetable oil sensation.
Light-medium mouthfeel.
The taste is a bit cleaner than the aroma with its grainy base and grapefruit hop bite. But everything is subtle. Not in your face. Maybe that's good for traditionalists like me but I don't see this going over big for hopheads.

Why does this have "haze" in the name? That wasn't clear to me, because the beer was. It's smooth, at least, and wasn't as malty as I expected from its clear deep amber look. Very ordinary, though, and I don't need to drink it again.
