Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed orange-amber color with a small head of white foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of a bready smell mixed with notes of biscuit and some light must. Along with these smells comes a touch of tropical fruit.
Taste – The taste begins with a quite malty flavor, being big on a biscuit and bready malt mixed with a rather sizable amount of fruit with notes of orange, tangerine, mango, papaya, and nectarine. At the same time there is a bit of a creamy flavor as well as some notes of grapefruit and floral hop. As the taste advances some lemon and lime join in, all while some other flavors of more orange and an earthy hop join in. Toward the end of the flavor transition, a touch of a vegetal flavor as well as more matiness join in, taking the taste to its end.
Mouthfeel – The body is rather thick with a chewy nature and a lower carbonation level. The feel is good for the flavors and the style and makes for a slow sipper.
Overall – An OK brew, but nothing too stellar. Probably wouldn’t do it again.
