Smells like it's going to be sour. Doesn't taste sour. Mostly getting clean wood smoke and a hint of cinnamon spice. Not getting any hint of rum flavor. Short, dry finish. Not particularly flavorful but I expected this to be a 1000 times worse. It's drinkable for me.

A- Poured from the 750ml into a large chalice. Dark amber bodied with a creamy off-white head. Retention is nice and fairly thick webs of lace surround the glass.
S- Heavily smoky, campfire feel along with notes of pumpkin pie spices. Fruitiness with an apple feel, fresh oak wood and really not much here for me. The smoke makes everything else hazy. Brown sugar and caramel malts.
T- Like the nose, the flavor opens up with notes of burning logs of wood and the strong smoke that results, it has a distinctly different feel from smoked malts. The base beer is comprised of some fruity yeast byproducts, light toasted malts and some pumpkin feel, maybe accentuated by the smoking process, burnt campfire vegetables. The barrel adds some oak and light rum hints. Slight tartness, not sure where that comes from.
MF- Foamy, silky moderately thick body. Carbonation is a at a medium level and overall everything is smooth. Smoky bitter feel lingers on the palate.
The smoked pumpkins throws this whole thing off for me. An aroma of burnt logs and smoke really overshadows everything else. What I can pick out of the base beer doesn't really impress either. Seems oxidized as well.

Creamy thick almost 1 finger head fades semi slowly decent lacing, hazy yeast chunk reddish brown color.
Nose spices, lots of spices, light sour infection-like aroma, sweet candy malts, caramel, light baked pumpkin pie and smoked gourd.
Taste lame vegetal flavor, bitter spices and plenty of them, bitter earthy spicy hops with the candy baking spices, chewy nougat and caramel, some baked pumpkin but not a lot, weird syrupy mess. Also some smoked flavors, again the vegetal gourd that was smoked, and a tannic bitter taste with that. Touch of a rummy flavor. Finish is sweet but drier, more bitter spices and light sourness, bit more smoked gourd.
Mouth is med bod, decent carb.
Overall blech. Not very tasty, I even had trouble finishing my small pour. Lots of poor flavors crammed into one bad beer.
