The 2015 incarnation of Funky Jewbelation will hit your glass as a deep, groovy brown, with a thin white head that dissipates quickly, leaving behind a funky tart aroma that comes after allowing a blend of certain beer to chill in a collection of far-out barrels for anywhere between a few months to over a year. The flavor of 2015 Funky Jewbelation is going to provide more hop character than most funky beers have seen, this dynamite quality comes from American hops we used to bitter and flavor one of our base beers, allowing a truly gnarly experience for all to geek out on!

Nearly pitch black; slight ruby at the edges.
Small amount of light khaki lacing which dissipates but doesn't disappear.
MALT BOMB smell; the 15 malts destroy the 15 hops in the nose.
The taste? Wherever the hops went, I hope they're enjoying the vacation.
This is a malty-ass barleywine; no balance. Boozy and frankly not very enjoyable. Disappointed.

This beer has a funky smell like you'd find from garlic and green curry aroma from a Cambodian immigrants apartment (don't ask). Maybe some wet cardboard as well. Taste is Brett and soured and some bitterness. Not much sweetness or malt. Very weird beer. Not sure it works for me but I enjoyed the adventure.

Bro picked this up for me for 12 bucks since it's a beer I never had. Pours a deep black color sort of imperial Stout like with a 1/2 inch of frothy head. Smell is quite sour full of lemons and tart funk but little to no bourbon. Similar taste the sour edge is a bit rounded and little bourbon flavors of caramel and wood throughout. Worth trying at least once.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter, bottled 2/18/15.
Cola color, fairly opaque. Two finger head with a good amount of foamy cling. Smell is malt, caramel, yeast, plums, a little red wine, hint of bourbon. Taste brings malt, an earthy hop bitterness up front, caramel, plums, figs, a light sourness, some red wine, some bourbon, some rye. Smooth, solid body, well carbonated, the taste lingers.
First one I've had of the series, and this is a solid effort. The ales, lagers and barrels all blend together well and make for a flavorful and interesting beer.

Saturday night bottle share. Bottle thanks to Rick. Lively bottle foamed up on opening, and didn't settle down for a while, but it was still good. Tart and funky as the name implies.
