838 pours clear copper color with a 2 finger foamy off white head that faded slowly and left excellent foamy rings as it went down. Smells of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted grains, graham cracker, sweet malt and candied sugar. Tastes like it smells with sweet malt and toasted grains up front, toffee, caramel, graham cracker, buttered wheat bread, orange peel, citrus hops, tea leaves, piney hops and light peppery spices. The malty sweetness dominates and hides the ABV quite well. A really enjoyable malty IPA which is certainly English style IPA, not a hazy NE hop bomb.
