I knew what I was doing. I knew that I was hungry. I knew this Killarney's was connected to the Riverside location, which hinted some selection of craft beer in a great atmosphere. Just what I needed for lunch.
Although the strip mall its in is non-descript, the interior of the place is outstanding to be in. There is dark accents of wood all over, lots of intimate booths painted around on the floor, a "J" shaped bar that is stacked with a variety of old bottles and whiskey. A few round tables are elevated and have two taps flowing from the middle of them. It's clean, it's crisp, and had more than a few people during the lunch hour.
There are two dozen taps, although some of the taps are repeats, and just under 30 bottled/canned options. While there are slightly more macro options than craft options, the craft list is worth mentioning. Taps from Avery, Hangar 24, Black Market, Lagunitas, and Stone flowing, bottled options from Fuller's, Harviestoun, Chimay, Samuel Smith's, Murphy's, and Porterhouse. Several pieces of glassware offered, from Guinness imperila pints, to standard shaker pints, to half-pints, and large snifters. Too bad the beers were served coler than I prefer.
I received "on and off" service at the bar, getting just what I needed when I needed it. During the lunch hour, smaller portions are available at a small price. I went for a banger sandwich with thick cut fries, which was a more than decent meal. I dind't find a beer menu, so pricing remained a mystery until I got the beer. The $6.50 for the Avery IPA was a bit more than I thought, also $6.50 was a bottle of Porterhouse Oyster Stout (not bad considering it sells around $4.50 in stores).
For beer, Killarney's makes a decent spot to hit up in Temecula. Go for the atmosphere, otherwise you may be better off heading towards Barley & Hops.
