Had a pint from the cask at the Horse Brass Pub in Portland. After having Lompoc's other single-malt Maris Otter beer, Thomas Fawcett, I was surprised that this was actually significantly different. The malt had a smoother bready quality with light cola notes. Like a good bitter, this beer finished with a subtle herbal hop kick to balance things out. Not only is this beer interesting, it's also delicious. I feel lucky to have drank it.
