This was above average in just about every way, but it looked good and I found it very enjoyable when it was cold. The sweet malty aspects worked well with the bitterness of the hops in the background.

A one-inch, almond head forms a tight foam that gradually settles over several minutes. The beer is a dark amber/copper (SRM 7-10). Island groupings of fine lace form on the walls of a PBGC American Lager pint glass. The beer is almost clear, with a profusion of random fine carbonation throughout.
The aroma is predominantly malty. Caramel allows barely enough room for light, floral hops. Warmth transforms the malt to almond biscotti.
The flavor is well balanced, with sweetness up front and nibbling bitterness at the end. Caramel and grain flavors are found throughout. The finish is strong and lingering, with bitterness and light astringency.
This beer has a full body and the texture of tulle. Alcohol is more present than expected against an effervescent carbonation.
This is a standard beer that would be a nice choice for tailgating and bar food. Soft pretzels would pair especially well.
