On tap at the brewpub during the Ratebeer Winter Gathering.
The beer pours a deep red color with a tan head. The aroma is dominated by a lot of caramel and cherry notes, with an undercurrent of oak. The flavor is more complex than the aroma. I get a lot of caramel and some sweet brown sugar, with some vanilla and nutty notes also coming through. There is also quite a bit of cherries, as in the aroma, and the alcohol is quite present. The sugar and vanilla notes come together and sort of remind me of cake icing. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
