Had it on tap at the always outstanding Dive Bar in NYC. I'm not an expert on the Biere De Garde Style, but like the few other examples I've had, I found this one to be malt forward and having sweet properties. It poured a dark copper with a modest head that eventually disapated entirely. The aroma was sweet, earthy, floral and tea like. The taste, in addition to the sweetness, has a bit of a tart feel. There is some herbal bitterness in the finish. I found the body to be on the full side of medium. The malt provided a heavier tone that made it more of a dipper. Perhaps this would pair better with a hearty meal? An interesting beer for sure that represents a style I need to explore more.
