L: mid amber, really cloudy, light head
S: funky, yeasty, malty. Smells more complex than it tastes.
T: cider, really dry cheap white wine, maybe even white wine vinegar - super-sour
F: average body
O: I really wanted to like this. Buckwheat hints at ployes, a Maine/Acadian delicacy with a unique taste. But there was none of that, and the profoundly sour taste masked the complexity that should come from the mixed fermentation. An interesting experiment but not enjoyable.

Bottle from Blending and Bottling in Portland, ME. Pours a murky dark tan amber with a thin ring of white head, nice lacing; smell is wheat crackers, funky grape skins, wet hay, tart sparking apple cider; taste is toasted wheat bread, funky and musty white wine, sparking cider, funky hay, vegetal funk in the finish that lingers; feel is light, tart, bright carbonation, medium acidity, dry. An unabashedly funky, tart, dry, and white wine/cider forward treat.

On-tap @ Blind Tiger in New York, NY.
Deep amber color with a small white head and poor retention. Complex aroma filled with sweet malt and funky barnyard yeast. There is a depth to the malt and the yeast and bacteria really play well off of it, Tart and acidic finish. Medium bodied with very soft carbonation. Paired really well with a cheese and charcuterie plate that had an English blue and a sheep cheese on it.
