Tart and acidic, but I do pick up on the honey/mead notes. Probably won’t try it again; not for me.

8 oz on draft at the Portland brewery in what I think is a teku glass.
Appearance: A fairly solid amber with a frothy white head that disappears after a few minutes. Kind of honeycomb colored.
Aroma: Honey, a little mustiness, and a grain/bread type note. Not an overpowering smelling beer. Could possibly benefit from more zip in the nose, but then again I’m not super familiar with these styles. Lack of heavy aroma could be intentional.
Taste: Honey leads the way. Notes you’d expect from an amber ale are there. Some dark bread, grassiness. Some bitterness. Complex. Enjoyable. Has a lot of wine-like characteristics. Grapes, perhaps apple. Almost reminds me of mead, though far lighter and less sweet.
Mouthfeel: This is a sipper for sure. Best to savor slowly as there is a lot going on here. Body is relatively light but the flavor combinations lend themselves to a slow sip.
Overall: This beer is way over my pay grade but it’s very enjoyable. As stated above, enjoy this one slowly. Worth it!
