On tap @ the Mudhook Brewing Company (York, PA) on 2/25/12. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a murky brownish amber with an slightly off-white head. This retains with some foamy ringing and leaves back some light spotty lacing. The aroma smells of green hops, cocoa, caramel, and banana, with a slight roastiness that mixes in. A touch of underlying spice gives the nose a little extra zip.
The taste is caramel and cocoa sweetness with some roasty edges and a firm green bitterness. The hops are maybe coming on a bit too strong at times, as this finishes dry and bitter with some lingering spicy notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some crispness on the tongue which then gets a bit more creamy feeling towards the swallow. This feels pretty good in the mouth overall.
This wasn’t bad at all and is probably one of the better ones that I’ve had from here. This came off as little too green feeling at times but the roast and banana flavors picked up some steam as things warmed up a bit more and this overall was pretty drinkable stuff.

this was a gift and the cap says "DUNKEL". cant find anymore info on their website, so a more descriptive name as well as the ABV are unknown.
A: dark chestnut brown. unfiltered. head is bustly and good looking, brownish white hue. typical wheat beer head. good lacing as well.
S: bananas and walnuts off the bat. there is actually a decent amount of nutty aromas. a lot of yeasty esters.
T: very strong chocolate flavor. banana. a little bit of roasted grain. sweet body reminds me of chocolate covered bananas takes a turn towards the nutty flavors. finish lingers a little bit of walnut chewy, dryness.
M: a healthy dose of carbonation on a light/medium body.
D: a pretty good dunkel offering from mudhook here. maybe a touch more fizz would help out. looking forward to trying more brews from these guys.
