On tap @ the Mudhook Brewing Company (York, PA) on 2/25/12. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a hazed gold, with a thin covering of bright-white head. This mostly retains with some thin foamy ringing around the edges of the glass, leaving some spotty lacing back. The aroma smells of clove, unripe bananas, green apple, and crisp wheat. This is decent but seems like it could use a bit more airiness (especially maybe some bubblegum character) in the nostrils to help push those flavors around a bit.
The taste is wheat, a flat green apple character, and banana flavor that has a bit more of a ripeness going on with it. Clove hangs in the finish of this, which is overall rather dry. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and crisp on the tongue before spreading out into the mouth with more of a firm creaminess.
This was OK and decently drinkable but seemed like it could use some more work as well. I’d like to see additional bananas and bubblegum character pulled out from the yeast a bit more. Hopefully this one will continue to improve.
