Went to Mudhook Brewing Co. when I was in York for a show, but arrived far before doors were open. Glancing at their taplist, I spotted the Screaming Smoker Porter, and was intrigued. Sitting down at my table, and having a menu, I noted that there was a Coffee Porter but nothing under the "Screaming Smoker" moniker. Asking my server, she said that she wasn't even aware that Mudhook had a Coffee Porter, so she went inside to check, and returned with my Screaming Smoker.
Look: Very dark, with a thin toffee-colored head.
Smell: Clearly smoky, not much else noticeable to me.
Taste: No coffee or chocolate notes here, a bit malty with a smoky middle and a light finish. A bit watery, in all honesty.
Mouthfeel: Slight carbonation, significantly less than other beers that I've had (I'm relatively new to the craft beer tasting game). Not much left in the mouth.
Overall: A good, not great Porter.
