A: Perfectly translucent amber color. Head has nice volume with light beige color. Head looks creamy but the retention is surprisingly good. Lacing is pretty good too. Very nice looking beer.

S: Smell is quite strong but weird. I get some nice caramel malts but the seaweed is coming off very strong, which isn't a good thing IMO. Finally there is a lot of coriander as well as a little bit of pepper in this. Maybe some cloves too? It smells strong, it is a complex smell, but it really isn't much inviting.

T: There is light maltiness from this. The water they used seem very mineral which is a bit odd. Seaweed is again pretty strong and really weird and out of place. Again, lots of coriander, cloves and pepper. It is also pretty salty. Weird and not very good tasting brew. Lacks a bit of sugars to balance it out.

M: Light body with medium to high carbonation. Nothing wrong with this at all. It fits the kind of beer this is.

D: Well, the beer itself has a light body, far from being cloying and the taste isn't too strong. It's only the fact that it taste bad that makes it harder to drink, the other aspects of the beer are fine.

Cloudy, neutral amber; light head with spotty lace--appears fizzy, like soda pop.

Mild malty aroma without too much sweetness--a little caramel which comes through in the flavor, which is sweeter than expected. There is a mild touch of hops. It is a full bodied beer, yet it over-carbonated.

The flaws are distracting and take away from an otherwise interesting beer.

750 ml bottle, corked "champagne" style. Full name is "Tonnerre de Brest Bière Ambrée aux Algues". And it's definitely not an English Brown Ale, belongs rather in the Spice/herb/vegetable or Traditional Ale categories. Disregarding the algae, the base could be said to be an Amber Ale. A beer brewed with algae, what’s next? This one pours deep amber / orange with a large pale orange head. Pleasant fruity aroma (oranges, apples), also notes of honey, flowers and hay. Flavour is also fruity / slightly acidic with some strange notes I can’t identify, probably the algae. Acidic and salty finish / aftertaste. Not the best beer I’ve had, but interesting. At least it’s something out of the ordinary ...

On the label: Seaweed ale.
Dark copper colour, almost ruby. Quickly falling head. Very fizzy appearance. Turbid.
The smell is something about sea salt. Malt. Fresh and floreal.
At the taste is fresh, lightly malted, with a clear taste of "sea". Taste "granulate", quite sparkly.
Strange bitter.. Maybe the seaweed?
Good bitter in the aftertaste, with a comebacking of sweet malt that lowers the bitter. "Sea" again. Marzipan?
