On-tap at Lazy Dog Cafe in Irvine

A: The pour is a pale golden color with a fluffy white head and plenty of carbonation bubbles.

S: The nose is slightly sweet with some biscuity malts and a slight floral aroma.

T: The flavor is "light", with some hints of bready malt and maybe even some graham cracker. Not much else to it, however.

M: The body is a touch on the thin side with an abundant carbonation which gives the beer an airy feel.

D: Even for a blonde ale, this one was pretty bland. It's not bad, but I would opt for some of the other beers that are on tap.

Brewed by Bayhawk Ales for the Lazy Dog Cafe franchise, on to the beer:

This has a shiny orange/amber color with hues of pale gold. My beer was poured a thin head by the bartender, but I still got some thin rings of lacing on the glass. As the name advertises, there's honey in the aroma. Snaps of graham cracker too. The taste....some vague vegetable keeps coming up (it tastes "green"), but for the most part a light honey flavor with graham cracker is what you'll get. It has a floral finish with faint hop bitterness coming through. Yes, this light ale has a light mouthfeel...but is quite smooth with a dull crispness (not overcarbonated).

For a light ale, this is a good one. Unfortunatley, you can only find it at the Lazy Dog Cafe.
