On-tap at the Capistano Brewing Saloon in San Juan Capistrano. Notes taken back in April. Contract brewed by Bayhawk Ales, on to the beer:
To my surprise, this amber ale was very malty. Its aroma was very sweet, with major toffee notes and a touch of butter. The flavor, though, is where it got fun....sounds like the case with every beer, amirite? Toffee, caramel, echoes of biting hop in the back. Crisp and refrshing on the palate. In addition to being very malty, it was surprisingly enjoyable when I wasn't expecting much. I'll certainly reorder this again given the opportunity.
