On-tap at Tustin
A: The beer pours a pale, straw-yellow color with a creamy white head and pretty good clarity.
S: Starts off with what seems to be corn. Not what I was expecting, but okay. Straw and grass form the hop contributions and there is a bit of spice, maybe coriander. Decently bready, but not a huge emphasis on the malt, more on the mediocrity.
T: There is quite a bit of coriander to the flavor. Unfortunately, there is also quite a bit of: cardboard, corn, and grass. Really weird and sort of like a crappy witbier, more than anything.
M: The body is light to medium with a high carbonation and an inexplicably dry finish.
D: I wasn't expecting much from this, being a Bayhawk beer. I've got to say, it lived up (or sunk to?) expectations.

Sampled 1/28/2011 at Tustin Brewing.
Pours clearish, yellow, small white head, decent lacing, no retention.
Aroma is of Belgium, bread, and cardboard infused grape juice (minor component).
Flavor is a strange cross between a German helles lager and a witbier. Lots of coriander, pilsner, and stale-ness followed by hints of dry Kölsch and citrus rinds mixed with grass clippings. Lots going on but it seems to be confused.
Body is light and would be enjoyable if it was a good example of either style or if it was any good.
