22oz bottle acquired from the brewery (Atlanta, GA). 10.00. No bottling date but their anniversary party was 8/8/15. Served in a Monday Night snifter.
Pours a brilliant garnet with two and a quarter fingers of beige head. The thin halo lingers, leaving only a partial band of lace where the initial head rested.
Aromas os estery Belgian yeast, sugar, stone fruit and raisin bread. I'm not able to articulate all I smell here but suffice it to say that it's sweet and inviting.
Flavor picks up on the sweet, rich theme promised by the nose. Toffee, dark fruit, caramel, oak, apple skin, brown sugar, vanilla, yeast, faint fruitcake and a slight alcohol presence. The oak, yeast, Belgian candy sugar and malts all work together in sweetly beautiful harmony to create a tasty and dangerously drinkable quad.
Creamy, smooth full body with supple carbonation. Sweet, lingering finish with notes of candied, wine soaked dark fruit.
This is an enjoyable quad and one of the best brews I've had from Monday Night. Errs on the sweet side but that suits my tastes just fine. I'm super happy a friend of mine grabbed this for me and I hope I can get to the brewery for some more before they run out.
